Welcome to my world

I am Vanessa, writer of poetry, creator of dreams, lover of nature, and admirer of all the beauty life has to offer. I always say that I paint my life with all the colours I see, all the things I envision in all of my dreams.

Many years ago I did not quite recognize myself as a writer and I had to learn what writing actually means to me. It started off as a medium to process experiences, the joyful and good ones, as well as the dark and challenging times. Heartbreak or different forms of grief, and maybe you can relate to this too, are feelings that surface from time to time. For me they have eventually found their way onto paper. When I pick up my pen it is like an extension from my heart to the outside world, a way to connect and a form to let go.

Over the years I have played around with various topics and I discovered how much joy I experience when imagining myself into a different world. As long as I can lean into all the wonderfully wild thoughts my mind carries, I can find inspiration everywhere and write about anything.

While some poems come from my own experiences, I always like to share that not every piece reflects a writer’s personal story. For me the best part of my poetry is that you can find your own story in my words, as well as find connection, belonging, and empowerment.

So I will say, open your heart and be inspired by all the magic this world has to offer.

Her mind

Is brilliant

Wild and free

She has kindness

And love within

While always

Staying strong

And rooted

In her beliefs

I am her

And she is me
